Choose an alias folder
Pick a dedicated folder for Callsign aliases. A folder named Callsign Aliases inside Documents is easy to find and easy to remove later.

Callsign creates aliases you can see and control. These notes explain the expected workflow and the boundaries of the app.
Review before creating
Callsign shows familiar Windows names and the native Mac tools they open. You can select or deselect aliases before creating anything.
Aliases are visible files
The aliases are normal visible files in the folder you chose. They are not hidden system changes, login items, browser extensions, or background services.
Remove aliases
You can remove aliases directly from Finder. Callsign can also remove managed aliases it created, using its local record to avoid touching unrelated files.
If aliases do not appear in search
macOS search indexing can take time and ranking can vary. Callsign creates visible aliases, but it does not control Spotlight ranking or make aliases appear as applications.
